firefox cant use or find or install or update vmware-plugin keywords : firefox plugin install vmware I dont know exactely what caused my problem cause I did two things at the same time: i) changed the httpd-port from my vmware-server ii) upgraded firefox to 3.0.4 However I ended up in not beeing able to open vmware-console within firefox. I was asked to install a missing plugin and when I tried so the list of available plugins was empty. I went to tools->add-ons and tried to update my vmware-plugin but I only got the following helpful error: "an error occured while trying to find updates for vmware remote console plug-in" Solution: uninstall the vmware-plugin and when you try to access console in vmware-mui in firefox again you will be presented the "install plugin" directly in the console-window and then you can reinstall it and everythings works fine.
