hauppauge wintv nova-t usb2 linux ubuntu
it wasnt easy ... :) and dont wait for the red light to flash which is described as the magic howto in many howto’S - there is none on my version. no light even in windows :)
packages
I installed the following packages with synaptic:
- udev
- some that sounded good and I found by searching for “hotplug”
- usbmgr (dont think thats needed)
firmware
in /lib/firmware/KERNELVERSION/
- I needed dvb-usb-dib0700-01.fw from http://thadathil.net:8000/dvb/fw/dvb-usb/
- I downloaded also dvb-usb-nova-t-usb2-02.fw (not “-01”) from http://www.thadathil.net/dvb/fw/ and renamed it to dvb-usb-nova-t-usb2-01.fw
v4l
Then I needed to install 4vl exactely how it was described in http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/How_to_install_DVB#Solution_with_v4l_manual_installation
